Nail Varnish Causes A Stir

Nail Varnish Causes A Stir

It can be hard to believe a particular shade of nail varnish is causing a stir amongst those that wants to be completely fashionable.

This is because it is not just what you wear that you wear but how you really dress it up that makes you look good. Accessories and shoes can really make or break an outfit. However for those that really want everything about their outfit to ooze glamour everything is important right down to the shade of nail varnish they wear.

For the past couple of years it has seen Chanel’s offerings in the nail varnish stakes that really have been grabbing people’s attention. For example last year bottles of the Chanel’s ‘Jade’ polish were selling for around £100 each.

This year it is the Particulière nail polish which is grabbing the headlines. It has been on sale for around 3 weeks and was first spotted on the catwalk at the Chanel spring/summer ’10 show, worn by the models.

The soft mushroom hue is being marketed as the only colour you need on your talons this season.

David Walker-Smith, Selfridges’ beauty director commented: ‘Chanel’s Particulière nail varnish warrants the frenzy and is definitely on every beauty queen’s lust list.

It is on sale at Selfridges counters now although it may be wise to ring ahead and check that they have the shade in stock because leading up to its release their were waiting lists for the nail varnish and since then it has continued to grow in popularity.

Update last seasons’ parka.

Update last seasons’ parka.

If you are tired of last season’s parka why not give it an instant update and go for a cropped style. All you need to create this top trend is a pair of scissors, some statement popper press-studs, an old leather jacket or leather scraps and of course, a needle and thread.

The first step is to take your old school parka and cut it in half, the best way to do this is to get someone else to wear the jacket then you are guaranteed to get the length in proportion. Take the bottom half of the jacket and cut it to a similar size to that of the top half.

The second stage is to pin the bottom half of the jacket to the top half, you can play around with this until you create the perfect length, once you have achieved the desired length you can then sew the two pieces together, this can be achieved by either using a needle and thread or alternatively a sewing machine.

Check for any excess material inside and remove this in order to create a neat finish. However for a more distressed style leave the edges frayed. You can also use the popper studs to replace the original buttons; this again will update the parka.

Take any old scraps of leather you have collected or cut some off an old jacket and attach these o the sleeves, make sure they are the correct size prior to doing this. You can then glue these pieces to your newly created cropped parker, these can be sewn to the cuffs, collar and epaulettes for an updated twist on the parka. For an extra fierce touch, stud embellishments can be added to the ensemble.

This new style is the perfect take on 2010′s minimal chic and creating this garment yourself will guarantee a unique piece, you can style it to yours truly by playing round with a variety of details and embellishments.

Over at Ashish, girls were sporting East Paks created in acid bright colours and ink dyed to keep in with his cyber tribe style.
