Backstage beauty for next season…

Backstage beauty for next season…

Even though us mere mortals are still living in 2012, the fashion world is already cavorting 2013′s designs down the runway!

Bold red lips, dramatic eyeliner flicks in a variety of hues and heavy brows are proving to be a hit on next season’s autumn and winter runways.

The London and New York shows have already provided us with an assortment of hot make-up trends to look forward to.

Marc Jacob, Donna Karan and Rodarte are just a few of the designers to keep an eye on.  Rodarte’s models were seen sporting over-bronzed cheeks, whilst Marc Jacob opted to don his fashion clad in grungy lined eyes.  Donna Karan chose a more subtle fashion route and models were seen sport feminine and chic, pretty manicured nails.

Backstage at the fashion shows is a great place to be, especially for the models.  They are after all the ones that get to see the new trends emerge direct from the make-up artist’s chairs!

Bright eyes were certainly a big hit this season and the majority came in a peacock shade, this vibrant colour really works to add an instant ‘wow’ factor effect to any look.

The vivid coloured palette was definitely most prominent in New York and model’s boasted big blue eyes and sleek, shiny locks.  The end result…a truly dramatic look!  Perfect for a night on the tiles or a glamorous dinner date.

The look was finished off with a twist.  Classic eyeliner has certainly taken on a new spin for 2013.  Such eyeliner will looks will add a sultry spin to any make-up style!

This season’s eyeliner looks include a double swish as appose to the standard single flick of 2012.  The best way to achieve this look is to use a very high tech eyeliner pen.

The thinner the pen, the more accurate the flick.  Opt for a quick drying eyeliner product to avoid any unwanted smudging around the eyes.

Fashion for 2012

It is not always the easiest task to keep up with the latest trends, which is why it is a great idea to read up on any articles covering the latest fashion shows, the latest designers and the new season collections.

Not all of us are lucky enough to actually attend the new season shows; this is why reading up on the style reports allows us to keep in the know!

So what’s hot and what certainly is not for 2012?  The low rise and skin tight jeans of past season are just that and in the past!  These have instead been replaced with wide leg pants and flared jeans that are in fact popular with both sexes.

Another style to check out is this season’s 360 degrees clothing styles.  The designers have taken this opportunity to dress up the back of their designs as much as the front!  This in turn means you can buy into a style that offers different contours and drapes, which in turn produces a 3D look.

Accessories are always going to be big as they play a key part in dressing an otherwise subtle outfit up!  This season’s accessories are appearing in organic colours, vintage is also still hot right now!  So if you are lucky enough to raid your Grandmas trinket box, then look into getting your hands on stylish necklaces and brooches.

Loose any metallic accessories as these are definitely not making a comeback this season and designers and fashion gurus are already creating new looks for next year!

Don’t however discard all of your 2011 garments just yet as you can still style these for 2012.  Simply make sure you are innovative with your existing clobber.

You don’t have to spend a huge amount in order to be fashionable. Simply be clever about it and you too can look just as good as the A-list celebs.

A few must-haves for the ultimate fashionista

Valentines Day is fast approaching, this is certainly an excuse to dress to the nines for a special somebody, it is also a good time to hint at what you might like for your Valentine’s Day gift!

One thing that will be a gift for both of you is a silk-satin chemise.  This sexy little number will make you look and feel great and will get you all of the attention you desire!

The silk-satin chemise from the infamous designer Stella McCartney is a great shout and is available from Net-a-Porter.com.

Another fashion must-have comes in the shape of a cutesy jewellery box.  You never know what you may get from your man this Valentine’s Day and if it is jewellery, you will need somewhere to keep it!  A great shout is the Lapis jewellery box from Smythson.  The jewellery box houses a compartment for every trinket.

The accessory of a season is definitely a felt hat.  Emma Fielden has a great little red number, which is available from £220 and is the perfect colour for the winter season.

If you have an evening of fine dining planned for the event, then you will need to invest in a pretty outfit for the occasion!  Opt for something that is demure and flattering, rather than something that is a little too dressy.  A great outfit for a fine dining establishment is a cutesy elegant shirt, team with equally elegant trouser and heels or a block coloured skirt.

A tulle blouse from ‘by Alice by Temperley’ is a great option for such an event and the black embroidered print on the sheer white shirt works well to create a very high class look!

Add a little bling to the look with a few pieces of simple silver jewellery and will be turning more heads than you expect!  All of the above are available both online and at your local department store.
