Fans of the Olsen twins set their sights on the designer duo’s new and exciting range of sunglasses

The designer duo, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are this season set to release an exciting new range of extremely stylish sunglasses. The collection will be introduced in the very near future for the girl’s Elizabeth and James label.

In the latest of a series of fashion forays, the Olsen sisters have worked with the likes of the first-class Hong Kong manufacturer Absolute Black in order to produce a sunglasses line which will launch in November. This will coincide with resort 2010.

The first range will consist of two different styles and both will reflect the very New York Olsen design emotional response. Pieces such as Hudson, will offer an up-to-the-minute take on the aviator, and Fairfax, will introduce a feline and retro frame. Both of the uber chic and statement designs will be created in sleek black acetate with various gold embellishments.

The designer duo and fashionable pair wick be announcing the launch later this week and the twins are reportedly extremely excited to add a collection of sunglasses to the current Elizabeth and James brand. The stylish pair has been working with the designers at the Absolute Black brand from across the globe. They have in fact been carrying out design meetings through using Skype. This may seem like an unconventional process but it is certainly one that has revealed an extremely positive outcome, the planned growth and introduction of the line will be showcased in the spring of 2011.

The next step for the girl’s is said to be a handbag collection, we can’t wait to see the creations both Ashley and Mary-Kate come up with. The stylish shades will be obtainable from November and can be purchased from the prestigious department store Harvey Nichols.

At this very moment, across the other side of the world the Australian Fashion Week is taking place and one particular brand to have taken our eye is the ‘Stolen Girlfriend’s Club’. This the exciting new label from down under; this alternative and off beat label actually originates from New Zealand and is now taking the Australian catwalk by storm.

A list celebrities including Kate Bosworth, Juliette Lewis and Brit model Daisy Lowe are already firm followers of the brand and good news for the U.K, its about to hit the stores.

The Stolen Girlfriends Club was created by the ruthless trio Dan Gosling, Marc Moore and Luke Harwood and began as an underground art, film and fashion collective in 2005. Their slim fitting 1980’s tees soon became a big hit with various underground fans, each shirt offering a statement slogan. Other items such as an assortment of hand created denim attire also quickly became a favorite with fans. With such a firm following of fans, fashion soon took centre stage for the trio, the Stolen Girlfriends Club now consists of both a womenswear and menswear line as well as a jewellery range.

The label certainly offer something a little different, with a raw street approach to fashion which is both laid back and surf inspired. The most recent womenswear collaborations are a carefully presented combination of uber casual grunge glamour with a definite 1990s Americana feel. Pieces from the ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’ range include such items as oversized Pac man print jersey tees, mid blue cropped denim jackets with sleeves finished in navy and ‘dust and bone’ mesh gowns, all are parading the catwalk for spring and summer 2010.

This season sees well-known department store ‘Harrods’ receive a new line of denim brand into their designer section. This new brand is the brain child of the former model Alexandra Classen. The half Mexican, half Swiss model turned designer has succumbed to her jeans fetish and launched the unique new line.

The new creations not only appear flattering but they are also extremely easy to wear. These jeans boast to take those in them from day-to-night in style; the new denim range can be dressed up with heels and a smart blazer or kept casual and care free with sneakers and a tee.

No expenses have been spared when producing the new statement denim line and each pair boasts only the finest Italian workmanship.

The former model hopes to both reinvent and modernise the wardrobes of jean fans everywhere, she has therefore aptly named each pair after various renowned models, for example ‘hot-to-trot boot-cut Karolina’ and ‘skinny jean Daria’.

The twenty four hour jeans will be available in September and promise to suit every occasion…whether that is a business lunch, a shopping trip with friends or cocktails with the girls. These jeans can be transformed by the simple addition of a smart tailored jacket and heels, statement jewellery, cute pumps or a rock tee.

The new collections entitled ‘Girls Must Have’ jeans are perfect for those addicted to denim and tick all the right boxes in both style and comfort. There is an array of different washes available in order to meet a variety of needs, each pair boasting to create the perfect silhouette.

Designer Erdem hasn’t been at the centre of the fashion world for long, yet despite this the brand has just been awarded with the BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund. This fund is intended to take new and budding designers to the next level of development within their business. Erdem Moralioglu has reportedly stated he is delighted to have made it to the final, he believes this funding will aid in taking the Erdem brand to the next chapter of development and in turn expand the designer brand globally.

In total there were eight potential and budding designers to reach the final but Erdem was the one to take the title. The funding was awarded to the designer due to the strong signiture style the brand offers along with his level headed thinking and clear vision on where he wants to take the Erdem label, especially regarding the brands international growth and success.

The BFC described the label as portraying both excellent planning skills regarding the business as well as impressive and clearly focused design credentials. His pieces have kept the same standard and quality each season and look set to only continue to do so. Harold Tillman, the chairman of the BFC has stated he is extremely glad they chose this designer to back and believes the British Fashion Council’s Vogue Designer fund will be a major key in Erdem achieving their next set of goals.

The brand all ready has international status and this funding will allow them to further their already prominent and promising design business.

The new range entitled Blouson Noir was in fact a term employed by the Suburban Bordeaux rebels in the sixties who were known for their chic black jackets. 

The designer is British born but now works from the Big Apple and began her career twenty years ago purely by chance.  A photographer who admired her quirky style approached her at a party; she was wearing one of her own creations…a man’s dressing gown altered in order to appear as a dress.   She has since worked on a variety of challenging photoshoots, working with the likes of prestigious names including supermodel Kate Moss, designers Helmet Lang, Calvin Klein and Jil sander.  Other names include David Sims and Corinne Day.

Melanie Ward has managed to recreate the grunge look into a trend that resembles a both sophisticated and edgy fashion in the form of distressed tees, worn denim and this season’s must-have statement parka jacket

The key collaborator for the new line is Graham Taylor, a knitwear expert that the designer met whilst conferring with high-fashion house, Chanel.

Her spring/summer collection for 2010 offers an array of quirky pieces including checked shorts, fringed sarong skirts and camisoles, all feature eyelets and lace as well as buckle and zip detailing.  Her creations are both expressive and urban in form and offer a real sense of comparison.

The once stylist has certainly entered the field of design and stores currently showcasing the new collection include prestigious stockists such as Lane Crawford, Barneys and Browns.
