If you really want to take this trend to town then team your arm candy with your shoes.  Wear a hot hued polish in a different shade for extra style points.

Take some style notes from Nicole and Nik Reed, both have this trend nailed and were each seen sporting uber colourful rainbow heels at a recent awards!

Take a shot of the fashionistas from Asia.  They certainly know how to jazz up an otherwise subtle outfit if ever!

Apart from their wonderfully bright garments, the black Louboutin heels and Dior lady bags are very much in trend.  Colour is cool this season and we should all be taking inspiration from the catwalks.  Experiment with unexpected and individual combinations for best results.  Stack your wardrobe with the pick of the best bright skirts, dresses, jackets, and get ready to mix up your colour style combos.

With colour so hot right now, even the dull days are going to seem brighter, especially if the cat walks are anything to go by!

It is the season to be colourful

It is the season to be colourful

We are well into the summer months now, however there are a few more to go and what better excuse than to embrace colour…at least whilst the sun is shining!

There are however a few tips and a rule or two to take note of when colourfully styling your summer attire.  One such rule being never go overboard!  Too much will just make the people around you want to don the shades for other reasons than the sun!  A subtle statement is always better than over kill and you will appreciated much more by your fashionable friends for it!  Try adding a colourful hat to an otherwise subtle outfit or a statement ring, necklace or head band to neutral shades.  Set off a black dress with super bright accessories rather than wearing the same colour.

This season is certainly embracing hot hues and all the stars appear to have donned such outfits at the A-list events this season.  Think hot orange, brilliant baby and bright blue, turquoise and canary yellow!  All are very much in and will have you at the top of the style charts!

Other things to take note of is the style of the piece you intend to wear, fitted pieces often work better with colour as appose to over sized items.  Opt for a bright green or blue body sculpting dress, you will be the bell of the ball at your next do!

In the fashion know for 2011

In the fashion know for 2011

This season is sporting some seriously out there fashions in the shape of neon bright colours, hot hues and retro shapes!

Leather was certainly big on the catwalks but instead of the usual subdued shades such as black, grey, tan and brown, this season’s leather look had received a definite make over! This makeover came in the shape of metallic pieces, lashings of silver, neon colours and bold hues!

These over the top hues were teamed with patent Leather clutches, overlapping skinny belts in equally contrasting colours and uber chic retro heels in the shape of neon bright stilettos. Jewellery was kept to a minimum but if added as s statement it came in the shape of a piece that screamed look at me!

Check out Miu Miu’s hot heels, the must-have pair for 2011 come in hues of neon green, black and white, of course they are extremely high, as is standard of this particular out there label!  You certainly don’t expect any of Miu Miu’s collections to blend into the crowd!

Another designer that is causing a stir, especially when it comes to daring attire is Alexander McQueen.  The labels new ranges of shoes are already at the top of every fashionista’s wish list.  The shoes can only be described as a work of art and combine intricate shapes and butterflies in the design and of course the designs appear sitting upon super high heels.  Forget clogs and wedges this season is back to working the dangerously high skyscraper stiletto styles, it may be an idea to get taxis to the door if you intend on wearing any one of the McQueen creations

What’s hot and what’s not for the summer season!

Lourdes, the rebellious daughter of the iconic pop star Madonna has finally been released!  The stylish teen is currently working on an uber rock fashion line as well as sharing her opinions on her blog.

Next up is actually ‘heaven forbid’ turning off the Blackberry whilst away…you can’t call it a relaxing holiday if every other minute you hear that famous ‘ping’ as a new email, facebook notification, text or call comes through.  Switching off also means switching the handset off…don’t worry all the gossip, mail and news will still be waiting for you on your return.

Special edition magazines and overly chic coffee table books are proving to be a big hit this season and the must-have accessory for any fashionistas’ living room.  One such favourite seems to be Visionaire’s tribute to McQueen and V’s scratch-off cover.

The new way to propose this year is definitely with a Tiffany Cameo ring, it might not be a rock but the intricate design and diamond embossed edge are certain to have any girl go weak at the knees.

Boring dance moves are a no no…especially when you can steal a few new ones from Miike Snow’s new music video; take a look at the sound track The Rabbit.

Eton Mess seems a tad lazy and certainly not the sophisticated way to dine, opt for an ice-cream sandwich instead.

Tips for wearing 2010’s hot pants trend.

Tips for wearing 2010’s hot pants trend.

This season firstly embraced lingerie as outerwear so it should come as no surprise that hem lines are set to become shorter for 2010.

When working this season’s hotpants trend it’s vital you get the hemline right, this should appear to curve up the outside of the thigh. The shorts should be extremely figure hugging and are therfore more apt for evening attire.

Hot pants look perfect teamed with a pair of skyscraper heels as this will create the illusion of a shapely figure, whilst lengthening the legs. However mid high t-bars look equally as flattering and echo a more laid back look.

With clever tailoring this look can work for both autumn and summer, simply throw the hot pants over tights or leggings. If you are feeling brave throw a little colour into the mix with statement print stockings in vibrant shades.

The spring 2010 hotpants style brings with it a bold palette embellished with various patterns. Gone are the hotpants styles of 2009 where a predominant black palette took centre stage. Different fabrics have also been introduced in the shape of leather and knits. Evening attire has certainly taken a different path this season with a complete new level of embellishment including studded and sequin detailing

When working this trend a lot of flesh is often on show, tone the look down by teaming with a billowing blouse and a boyfriend blazer, adding sport wear to the mix is another great way of doing this.
