Invest in an on trend maxi dress this season.

Well known model and presenter Alexa Chung was this week seen sporting an uber stylish and right on trend maxi-dress, abandoning her usual signature short attire.

The stylish celebrity was spotted in the fashion capital of New York wearing a black maxi-dress, the model looked so hip in this low key number that she is bound to make even the most unenthusiastic fashion follower try this floor length style for themselves.

Gone are the floral prints and floaty numbers, the black jersey maxi is having a major fashion moment right now and is the perfect look for summer regarding staying as cool as you look. Alexa also proves it’s the perfect staple for your city wardrobe.

In order to add a little extra to this chic look why not add a skinny leather belt to the ensemble or alternatively, steal Alexas’ style and team with a coloured or patterned ribbon for a more individual twist. Most department stores will sell a selection in their fabric sections Head to VV Rouleaux or John Lewis to buy a length yourself.

Think leather accessories when working this trend as this will add that polished edge to the ensemble. If you can fit all your daily items into an uber cute across the body bag, vintage styles look great with this trend.

Patent leather sandals look great with the maxi dress but if you want to take this look into the evening, then add a pair of higher heels in a similar style.

Finish the look with some statement jewellery, both silver and gold work well and should be layered over one another in order to create that summer edge.
