Maybe it is the weather, the current economy or quite simply the fact that it is already December, whatever it is we are already starting to get in the seasonal spirit this year!

This year however we are all seemingly making a vow to be a lot more organised, which in turn means starting the seasonal shop early!

Plan, budget and try not to panic buy and you will be well on the way to purchasing your friends and loved ones an array of gifts they will just love!

If you leave it until Christmas Eve, chances are all the good things will be well gone!

Here are a few ideas to get your seasonal spirits buzzing with anticipation! A satchel bag in a bright hue is a must for those that have a stylish office job or alternatively those at collage. A leopard print phone case is another must for the designer savvy girl. Silk scarfs are great gifts, especially if you plan on posting presents. They won’t take up much room, yet will still create a great impact.

A vintage camera pencil sharpener is a must for those that love quirky stationary and lets be honest, who doesn’t? Liberty stationary is also worth checking out, it will look super stylish on your colleague’s desk and will make the perfect work secret Santa gift!

When it comes to work wear, many of us may address such pieces as the drab parts of our wardrobes, however it doesn’t have to be that way! This season’s work wear can be just as much a part of your wardrobe as your evening attire!

Take this season’s hot new must-see movie ‘Bad Teacher’ for example and look to Cameron Diaz for a few style notes when it comes to work wear. The leading lady certainly shows us that by no means are your work attire pieces boring! Heels are not just for an evening out on the tiles and can be teamed with a knee length skirt in order to create a sophisticated and sultry office outfit that will double up as evening outfit for drinks with the girls after work!

Work wear isn’t just about donning a pair of flat shoes, a plain shirt and a pair of black trousers, you can be just as stylish in the office as you can out of the office. Add a bright belt and fitted floral belt to your every day suit.

Fitted blazers never seem to go out of fashion, why not team one over a vest top and a pair of smart linens as appose to your usual suit trousers and shirt. This is a great low-key look that is more relaxed and the best bit, it goes just as well with sandals as it does with pumps.

Accessories are also a great part of every outfit and can really work to add an instant hit of colour to any outfit. Try turquoise or white if you have a tan!

This year fashionistas’s are opting for the safer option and so are the designers! Don’t expect to see a major change in any of this season’s attire, instead expect your favourite pieces to have undergone a little of a re-vamp!

Expect a colour surge as spring fast approaches; your favourite pieces will receive a good injection of colour, guaranteed to brighten up even the dullest day!

Designers have taken the tried and true attire of 2010 and 2011 and created something similar yet still something that will add freshness to your existing closet! Adding colour to an otherwise monotone outfit will most definitely add a little flair, even if its as simple as a hot hues pair of killer heels, a statement piece of jewellery such as an exquisite necklace or bracelet, a belt, bag or shawl. All of the above are inexpensive ways to dress up an outfit you already own, they are also a great way to jazz up your office outfit if you intend to rush straight from work to a dinner date or a meeting with the girls.

Make sure you choose a colour that compliments your skin tone and try to team matching shades together as too many colours will have the effect of a jumbled and mismatched look. Try to instead create a sophisticated style and opt for one single hot hue teamed with another subtle shade for best results

First up are the Emilie Cacace prints, which are said to be high on the fashion agenda this season. The of the moment textile designer has worked with her mum, who goes by the name of Penny at a digital print company. The print company goes by the name of Think Positive Designer Prints and features some of Australia’s hottest designers.

But that’s not all! Emilie Cacace has recently started up her own label, which reveals a series of prints that have taken inspiration from far corners of the world.

The new label is certainly one to watch for this season and goes by the name of Andeol. If you love observing both exquisite cultures and different people then make sure you check out the new range from this must see designer!

Emilie Cacace has stated that she grew ip surrounded by other cultures and has therefore always been interested and excited about the way other parts of the world live, whether this is the way they act, dress or eat. She loves seeing the way others work and why their values are on a day to day basis.

She also says she feels a strong connection to the ways in which other industries work such as handcraft artists from far out places like Guatemala, she feels this connection because she believed things that are still made by hand and from the heart have so much more value

Other elements that influence her designs include artisanal practices and indigenous textiles, both of the above contribute to her design process and also the manufacture of her pieces!

It has already been confirmed that the high fashion label Proenza Schouler will be causing quite a stir this season, they have certainly been making quite a bold statement in recent moths and this season’s show is said to be no different when it comes to that wow factor.

Proenza Schouler will be one of the defining shows when it comes to autumn and winter trends for 2011. Last season they showcased a line of neon and tie-dye pieces at New York fashion Wee, making themselves known as the ones to watch for this season, especially when it comes to creative and daring designs.

Their deconstructed tweeds and bold and dramatically printed denim are just two of the ways Proenza has chosen to stand out from the crowd. This seasons designs however appear somewhat Western in look and are now appearing all over the city, making them a major trend for 2011.

The designers behind such exaggerated pieces are Lazarro Hernandez and Jack McCollough’s, they both heavily focus were on signature mixed prints, computer generated and hi-tech yet made to look handcrafted clothes. `These include pixellated trousers and heavily detailed knits along with statement geometric velvet dresses. In fact almost all the pieces in the line took advantage of today’s technology.

Native American blankets collected on a road trip were said to be the inspiration behind the designer duos work. Accessories included pony skin boots and distressed suede boots a well as fang detailed necklaces, all using the concept of the great west, however the designs were so much greater.

A few pieces to watch for 2011’s new season are the slim fitting trousers and the tuxedo-enthused jackets, apron-fold skirts are also proving to be big for 2011.

The backdrop to Rodarte’s New York Fashion Show was Chelsea’s most prestigious art gallery. Kanye West took station at the front row, whilst Anna Dello Russo worked on her all-new and much anticipated reality television show outside the galleries doors, whilst Tavi watched accompanied by her father. Rodarte’s show was certainly the place to be when it came to New York Fashion Week and was one show that almost every fashionista wanted to be a part of! Rodarte was certainly a must-have hot ticket this New York fashion week.

There were of course other big acts and the Mullberry sisters as always put on a pretty impressive show, with the usual expectations met and a conceptual stage setting the backdrop. There is always a guaranteed A-list crowd and a cool celebrity presence this is probably due to the much anticipated dramatic finale, which always boasts to hit the high notes. However none of these things were as important as the clothes for the autumn and winter 2011 season, especially when concerning the Mulberry designer duo.

The designer pair paid strong attention to the clothes showcased and the pieces showcased topped last seasons for sure!

Many of the items that adorned the many models sashaying down the runway appeared to have taken a strong influence from nature and almost resembled those worn by the actresses on the Little House On The Prairie! Garments appeared folksy, styles were created in garments turned out in fabric the colour of ripe wheat; all had definite embellishments of homespun knits and hand-done quilting embroidery.

The floor-sweeping dresses were possibly the centrepiece and were worn covered by long coats and layered over other skirts or worn under aprons, tops and pinafores.

Flats, pumps, trainers, high heels, low heels, medium height styles, wedges, balancing styles and clogs. All of the above styles have shown their faces on the catwalk at some point or other, and every new season every fashionista waits in anticipation in order to welcome in the new style, whatever that may be!

Well this season is hot on the arty dude of thongs, forgot clogs and think about wearing a work of art on your feet once again. Shoes have gone a little loopy for the new year, in a good of course! Take a few style notes from the infamous Alexander McQueen label, the new footwear collection has been designed by enthusing butterfly an floral cut out embellishments into the heels of the new shoes, making them appear as if a walking pore of art as appose to your standard heels.

Te all new sculptural heels are shoes only to be worn to an occasion and they will certainly turn a few heads when you march in wearing them. In order to pull off this trend appropriately make sure you keep the rest of your outfit low key as embellishments elsewhere will look just that little bit too much. Team with block coloured sculptural dresses, uber chic and sophisticated high waisted shorts or sharp shaped trousers for best results, keep accessories and jewellery to a minimum and let the footwear do the talking! Jewellery should be keep simple and jackets sharp otherwise you will run the risk of looking over embellished rather than super stylish and right on trend!

Yes it is 2011 and yes there are an array of all new and need to know trends on the fashion radar. First up is facial hair, for guys not for girls obviously!

French Connection has this look nailed, think the kings of Leon when they first started out. This is certainly a look that causes the boys to man up and concentrate a little more on their facial hair.

The face of autumn and winter 2010 sported some serious beardage on the catwalks and this look is staying put for 2011. As well as looking uber cool and right on trend for 2011 you will also keep you face nice and toasty, a practical trend don’t you think?

The film ‘I’m Still Here’ was the hit that really started the ball rolling and showcased the actor Joaquin Phoenix sporting some serious facial fuzz. Our ultimate bearded batchelor of course is Douglas booth, also known as D-Bo. He’s the face of Burberry and the face of 2011. He is also set to star in an assortment of up and coming films in 2011, is there anything this guy can’t do?

Upcycling is the new recycling in the world of interiors and is a way of giving a new lease of life to something worn and out of date.

Check out the artist Zoe Murphy for inspiration, she takes colourful famed prints, inspired by the seaside town Margate and applies them to 1970’s furniture in order to re-vamp the look a little!

Lou Rota is another name to note down when it comes to re-inventing granny’s old sideboard, the artist uses transfers to customise furniture along with old newspaper prints and re-found memorabilia.

Re-Found Objects is a similar brand that I based in Newcastle and offers a range of items, which is all created form recycled objects. Check out the light fittings made from used glass bottles, a perfect kitsch piece for the home!

Lovely lingerie is certainly on the agenda for 2010; it seems however, that the pieces that have been created this season are just far too pretty to be hidden under our clothes.

From corsets to bustier’s the A-list are certainly embracing this trend and the likes of Dita Von Teese, Dakota Fanning, Rihanna, Kate Winslet and Lily Allen are just a few of the stars working such a look.

Underwear is everywhere and it is proving to be one look that is ruling the runways this year as well as the red carpet. Whether you choose cute and sporty or high fashion and high waisted, this season’s underwear is guaranteed to make you feel both beautiful and luxurious.

Underwear has most definitely shot up in the fashion stakes this winter and offers the perfect look for the party season. Whether you choose to create a subtle look and flash a little hint of a neon coloured bra strap or go all the way and work your bustier or bra as a top, there is no doubt that underwear has gained even more of a status this year.

This trend is partly about reliving the nineties moment as this was the era where bra top morphed into evening attire, especially when teamed with laid back dungarees. The nineties were in fact when Madonna was at the forefront of fashion and it was the singing icon that reinvented the corset.

Team a corset top with smart black trousers and a blazer for a sexy yet sophisticated style.
