Sarah Burton is certainly one designer that has a lot to live up to this Paris Fashion Week and therefore one that is under an extreme amount of pressure. This pressure is mostly due to the fact that she is the new Creative Director of the iconic Alexander McQueen, the former right-hand-woman of the designer will no doubted be expected to produce the same quality as the designer himself and in turn keep the eponymous label alive.
Burton has said a great deal regarding the collection since she became responsible for the label; instead she has been staying focussed on creating the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. One thing is for sure, the fashion world is dying to see what the new pieces hold in store for 2011.
Burton has reportedly the all new collection will appear a little softer than usual, however there will be a certain edge of darkness that Alexander McQueen is famous for, yet it will still be a lot lighter than normal in style.
Even though Burton worked alongside McQueen for 14 years, she doesn’t intend to stick to his style exactly, but will instead be taking the things that made his label renowned, such as his exact tailoring, incredible dresses, embellished prints and of course the sultriness, and giving them her own edge.
McQueen had a theory that nothing was ever impossible, Burton intends to stick to this theory regarding the all-new collection. With this in mind she intends to reveal a show stopping show, one that will be as legendary as one of McQueen’s prior shows
