The sun us starting to make more of a regular appearance, however the weather is still a little cold in the evenings. This doesn’t however mean you have to stick to the trousers, you can still wear all your pretty party dresses this season by simply teaming them with a cute pair if boldly patterned tights or sexy decorated hosiery, both options are great ways to add a little extra something to your loon and also a great way to keep toasty whilst still looking dressy!

Whether you choose swirls, stripes, antique lace-esque styles, hosiery with back seams, hosiery with sheer band detailing cheetah print styles, shiny styles or diamond print numbers, you will most certainly be making a statement this season!

Luv Tyler is one actress that is working the opaque look and has recently been spotted wearing a feather embellished cream skirt, black opaque tights, heels and a smart black top and jacket! The embellished waistband detailing made this outfit suitable for an evening out and the tights will most definitely keep this actress nice and toasty!

Good news for those that are not fans of the cold, ski chic is officially in, such a look ill not only keep you at the forefront of fashion, it will also keep you nice and toasty.

There are an assortment of must visit boutique ski chalets opening up around the globe, all of which are perfect venues for this season’s fashionista’s to work that ski chic style!  One such must-see chalet is the Madlein at Tyrol in Austria.   Not only does this laid-back yet exquisite venue offer an array of panoramic and breathtaking views, it also features Philippe Starck bathrooms and colossal beds!  The Zen haven offers a luxury place to unwind, featuring lots o glass and stone as well as a grand fire room and a tranquil outdoor steam pool.  For those that want to party there is also the in-house nightclub, Pacha.  Rates start from £165 a night, which includes half board.

Another great stay is the Cambrian at Alelboden in Switzerland.  Think log piled walls, mountainous scenery, picturesque views and giant windows.  The crisp white bed linen and cosy blankets are enough to make you stay in doors however!  The best feature of this particular ice palace also offers a dine in igloo and an outdoor thermal heated pool, it most fun asset however is the full-moon sledding.

Just because the big chill is here that doesn’t mean you have to ditch the summer shorts, after all what true fashionista would let weather stop them from sporting a great look!  The secret to rocking a summer trend in the winter snow is all down to clever styling.  When it comes to investing in a pair of shorts, opt for a dark colour as appose to a lighter fabric, look towards tweed or leather materials.  Not only will you keep the winter chill out, you will be right on trend for 2011.

Work the layers and cover up on top with a thick knit or a blouse and fine knit sweater.  For a daytime look add a pair of trusty opaque tights, when it comes to the evening, defy the weather and bare those pins.  Finish the look with a star studded pair of statement heels.

The A-lists have certainly embrace this trend, stars such as the actress Kate Bosworth and Coco Sumner accessorise day time shorts with low key items, such as a draping beige cardigan al a Kate or a simple yet sophisticated blazer like Coco.  Finish the look with a cute pair of shoes and this season’s must have ankle socks.

You may have thought December was cold as it could get but the bad news is…January is set to be even colder!  It is comes as great news to us that beanie hats are right on trend for 2011.  This super laid back trend is already a massive hit in celeb land and is the perfect look for staying warm in the chilly months ahead.

Despite the snow hitting us pretty much every year, we still never seem to be prepared! Some of us automatically lose the ability to dress ourselves in a stylish yet warm manner!! Heels are instantly swapped for flats in order to take on the snow carpet that has now replaced the floor, jackets are swapped for woollen coats and headwear is replaced by hat wear.

Instead of reaching for the overused bobble hated and mismatched gloves that have to be fair seen many better days, why not invest in the new snow style. A cold spell certainly is no excuse to forget our look!

Why not steal a few top trends from the stylish individual s that choose not to let the snow get in their way. Parkas are not only super stylish, they are also super snug and look great teamed with a pair of skinny black trousers and Uggs. This is the perfect attire to get you through those cold winter months. Invest in a parka with a hood in order to keep your locks shields from the rain and wind that winter often brings with it!

Another must have piece for winter 2010 is a pair of fashion forward earmuffs. Not only will you avoid the hat hair, you will look super cute this season.

Capes are a great winter look and can be thrown over pretty much anything; they appear more elegant than an oversized knit or heavy coat and are for this reason more suitable for an evening occasion.

Now that the winter season is most certainly upon us, it is time to invest in a few heavy knits, statement sock and hot hats, such pieces are not only stylish for 2010, they are also a must when the winter winters are blowing!

Layering is thankfully in for 2010, meaning we can hide away from the harsh weather behind several pieces of attire, including snoods, scarves, hats, gloves, socks, snow boots cardigans and fur-lined coats. All of the above are great investments for the winter season and each piece is most certainly ruling the runway this year.

Winter fashion has definitely taking note of the cold weather this season and keeping warm has never been so hassle free.

A chic version of the ultimate new parka is now available and has been seen draped over many of the models on runways left, right and centre. Another popular choice for 2010 is the heavy military coat, which has made a fashionable comeback and the on trend leather jacket has been created in a slightly warmer style and now comes in the shape of a bomber jacket, complete with fur trimmed collar.

Keeping your toes toasty is definitely possible in a pair of this season’s big lined boots; team these with a pair of chic leather trousers for a contemporary twist. At last keeping warm is finally on trend and cool! Finish the look with an elegant scarf and an uber cute yet statement hat.

You may think shorts are only for the summer, with a few simple tweaks those statement shorts will make the perfect attire in winter, both at the office and in the evening.

For the office, why not team a pair of metallic shorts with a cute and uber warm knit. Add a pair of opaque tights, there are an assortment of colours available, however if you want to keep the look suitable for the office opt for a subtle shade such as deep purple, grey, black or brown. Add a statement scarf to finish your outfit off and you are good to go.

In order to work the same shorts in the evening, whether out on the tiles or alternatively just out for a few drinks at a local bar with friends, swap the knit for a dressier top, either a playful skirt or a scoop neck knit. Lose the opaque tights and either add heels and knit socks or alternatively knee high boots, suede brown boots look great with metallic attire. Let your locks loose and add a darker nail colour, lashings of mascara and a statement lip hue for that ultimate wow factor. This is certainly one way tpo keep warm whilst still looking right on trend and ready for a night out!

Follow this season’s fashion flock in this season’s much-loved shearling, wear it collars, cuffs, boots and bags in order to appear snug for the autumn and winter 2010 season.

One top trend is the yeti-style boots; team with a pair of statement skinny leather leggings or sequined trousers for a different edge on the shearling style. Alternatively dress up a party look by throwing a sheep skin coat or fur gilet over a party dress, not only will you look right on trend for this season, you will be able to keep nice and cosy whilst the weather is approaching the minus temperatures.

Shearling appeared everywhere on every runway for the A/W shows, lining cropped leather bomber coats at Balmain, edging the collars and cuffs of every jacket left, right and centre Burberry and covering the coats at Topshop.

This trend is kept up to date with the clever addition of sexy skintight leggings, leather fabrics, brocade and an abundance of sequins. Such pieces make this style appear elegant rather than the market trader’s coat of choice.
