This season proves it’s time to step into reality and forget about the ‘of the moment’ trends and the over the top and over embellished pieces that can never quite leave the catwalk. This August it’s time to get real, there are no longer any impractical and over priced attire ruling the runways, instead this attire has been replaced by everyday wear with an added edge and women with women in mind have designed them all.

This proper grown-up attire may not be creating an over the top statement, they neither are however anything close to boring or anything like the functional clothes that have been labelled investment dress.

This season designers are creating a series of attire that is set to make your pulse reach the roof. The four key looks appear to be the ‘seductress’, the ‘ingénue’, the ‘lady’ and the ‘vamp’, meaning there is most certainly a style to suit all!

When working anyone of these styles you will in turn be creating the new you. Think ‘Nouveau Goth’ meets the ‘Rockabilly’ and throw together a mix of lambskin, silk and leather. Finish the ensemble with a statement accessory such as a felt top hat.

Other looks to work include the adventurer and the traveller. When styling the traveller look to Erdem and team one of his newly introduced wool capes with a pair of lace up flannel boots by the high-end fashion savvy Christian Louboutin.

The traveller works a mixture of wool, silk and jersey fabrics, each layered over the other in order to create a low key and relaxed look with that luxurious edge.

According to recent research, women have been revealed to be at their most beautiful at the age of 31, thus taking the lead in the beauty stakes over younger women in their early twenties.

According to studies, 31 is the pinnacle period for beauty; look to A-list stars such as Anouck Lepere and Katherine Heigl, who are both 31 and prove this theory to be extremely believable.

The online beauty brand QVC was the label behind such investigations and carried out the survey in order to coincide with its July’s Beauty Month. A total of over 2000 men and women were questioned in order to initiate such results.

Research questioned whether 31 is in fact believed to be the optimum age for beauty and revealed the following results. 70% of those questioned believed the main beauty factor is to possess confidence and those that offer such a quality appear so much more attractive than those that don’t. 67% of people questioned believed looks to be more important; another factor is style and also appears near the top of the programme with a total of 47% thinking such a quality in fact makes a big difference.

It is also telling sign that as women get older they care less about what other people think, this particular factor creates confidence. A total of 63% agree with the statement ‘with age comes beauty’, while 51% have let go of their insecurities as they got older and feel more beautiful.

So if its confidence that makes women more beautiful, then growing old no longer seems such a bad thing. Women like Jennifer Aniston, 41, Kim Cattrall, 53 and Helen Mirren, 64 prove this point; it looks like it’s not just men who get better with age.
